FoodFilled Celebrates 1 Million Meals
What began as a simple idea, to rescue surplus food that would otherwise go to landfill, has grown into a movement. Since 2018, FoodFilled has redirected over 500,000 kilograms of surplus food, collected by more than 1,500 volunteers, and distributed through 177 local food relief agencies.
“Reaching this milestone is exciting, but more importantly, it’s a reflection of the incredible generosity and commitment of our community and it symbolises an impact felt by so many people,” said Rob Miller, CEO of FoodFilled. “Every volunteer, donor, and partner has played a role. It’s a testament to the community.”
Community Food Drive
As the holidays approach, a local food rescue organisation is encouraging the community to turn their kitchen clean-out into an opportunity to support families in need.
FoodFilled is coordinating a community food drive. The initiative invites people to donate non-perishable food items they may be clearing from their homes. FoodFilled hopes the initiative will demonstrate the great impact that can be generated by our community through small acts of kindness.
Thriving Young People 2026 | Melbourne
FoodFilled recently pitched at The Funding Network Australia’s Thriving Young People event in Melbourne, sharing how our Drive With Purpose program empowers young people to work towards their driver's license whilst simultaneously building skills and giving back to their community.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters on the night, $38,188 was pledged to grow the program in partnership with the TAC L2P Program, helping learner drivers gain hours, confidence, and community connection while delivering food to those who need it most.
